Bitter 03/09/2011 5:39a.m. till 6:08a.m.

hey, if you're reading this. thanks. it seems you're one of the few that checks my blog in the hope of new posts or perhaps you stumbled here accidentally. which ever reason it may be, thanks.

there's actually quite a lot of stuff in my head. but sifting through, they're all incoherent, but related nonetheless.

i'm glad at least i know someone sides me on this. thanks. you have no idea how good you are at reasoning. it is just so true. i'll remember them always.

i'm being so incoherent that i don't know which thought to write, so i'll sign off here. hope i can get some sleep.

volley thoughts [01] 06/02/2011 1:01p.m. till 1:57p.m.

Happy Chinese New Year readers!

Since there isn't much of anything to do at Kluang, I started reminiscing about my volleyball career so far. School level that is. and so I watched the video captured by one of the girls from SMK Tmn Sea on  the MSSD final match, Tmn Sea vs. CHS. the longer I watched it, the more I feel frustrated. There's a whole lot of difference between the year 2010 and 2009.

I wonder why I didn't know captaincy was very important to me before. and quite frankly, important to my team as well. when the coach first told me I was the vice-captain of the team, I was like, "okay sure, I've been captain ever since I first joined the game, it'll be nice to be a normal player once more." and after that, I think that was the rolling stone that started the hellish year.

Watching the video and reminiscing what happened during MSSS, I believe all of those could have been easier, could have been avoided had I been the captain. you might say, "HAH, another bastard talking about self glory." but it isn't so. there is a reason why the team became weak, and I believe of all my teammates, I'm the only one still thinking about this.

Remember what I wrote earlier on that I had been captain ever since I started playing the game? there is a consequence of that. All of my teammates look up to me for years. when we're being trashed, and I produced a bit of magic, they'll be encouraged and fight a lot harder, unwilling to let the enemy team achieve an easy win, to prove themselves worthy of such a competition. this as evidence, if I remember correctly, was 2009's end of year competition. we were up against a much stronger team, but we gave 110% and made it hard for them. and I was captain during that time. I gave it my all, even had a serious injury that forced me into the bench, and in turn, my teammates reflect them as well. that was perhaps my proudest moment.

On the contrary, after I was told to step down, I feel they don't look up to me any longer, in fact, I feel they don't look up to anyone at all. which was a big problem. as an example, when we started losing a lot of points in a row, I broke the flow, but it wasn't like before, when it was enough to encourage my fellow teammates to fight back. and why was that? let me explain, if the captain of the team stepped up, the whole team will step up. if the captain falls, the whole team falls. the captain is much like the main support beam of a house. if it was brittle and broke, a little bit more taunting and the house will crumble. and I believe that's what happened. at the time, I was just a disposable furniture. making the place look nice, but took no part in maintaining the stability of the house. and so, that was why what I did, couldn't bring up my teammates anymore.

On another note, it's the position and role I played in the team. from an offensive player who front-lines the team's attack force, I was reduced to a defensive player only blocking and picking up the pieces. to be clear, ever since I started the game, I've been the main attack force AND shield. it's one of the reason why I can coordinate my teammates. I used to be the spiker, when the team was in a mess, who the setter will always feed  the ball till the team settles down. but my position changed so drastically that the setter was unable to feed me the ball and was forced to use unstable-ing teammates.

I remember I kept on wondering why I trained my spiking, why I kept risking injury, why I kept getting scolded by dad, when at the end, I wasn't used at all, and wasn't much of a contribution to the team. it's like I became a wrong piece to the puzzle. and it had to be this year, my last form 5 year, that all of this happened. damn it.

I can't let this go, because it's too important to me. it's a very valuable lesson to me too. one small action, can make or break a team. this, I understand completely. i wonder how this year's gonna be. first year of the senior team, and under captain Jason. he's a lot better than me in terms of skill and leadership, to whom I gladly accept. he's experience will lead us to victory or at least, close to it. =)

Like a Radio 22/01/11 1:54p.m. till 2:21p.m.

ah, Saturday! time to put up an update!

college started just this week, and i think all of the students in my class are awesome people. it was kinda funny when Sean Dee (i like her name, lol! special) asked me why am I so quiet, and I answered it's my nature. lol! true to that, it's only because my frequency hasn't been tuned to the class's frequency, so you know, no reception from me.  it'll take some time, i'll open up soon enough. =) i'll update more on my classmates when I know them better! looking forward to the time we're gonna have lunch together with our mentor!

So, a bit about my tutors, I think they're pretty good, maybe it's because this is college, and not high school where teachers just kept on reading the textbook (as though we don't know how to read). i like the new environment, I feel like an adult. yay! (contradicting much? lol)

anyways, this will just be a short update cause I gotta sieve through information that I've gathered for the presentation for physics due Thursday, it's about this thing:
so bye!

Couldn't ask for more 11/01/2011 7:32p.m. till 8:51p.m.

Dedicating this blog post to the guy who was the vice-captain of Blue house, Secretary of Vball Club, PMO's 乐器管理, lame joker, who influenced me into answering questions like "why is it so dirty?" with "because it's not clean lor!", a good friend of everyone who knows him, and who stood by me through the high school years.

I was pretty sad when I first heard he'll be leaving for Australia, but not altogether surprised. since he's born there, at some point I'm sure he'll be inclined on furthering his studies over there. so like, at least it's easier to take in, and he'll be back often I guess, so yeah, not as sad as I was now, cause I know he'll be back. the only problem will be, when he's back, will I be there too?

this song:
made me think if I truly have anything I'd like to say to Jaykerr. it's better to say too much, than never to say what you need to say again. but after the Farewell lunch, I'm pretty much speechless. there aren't many things to say now except my best wishes to him, hope he'll be successful in his chosen career, and let's see how far fate goes. an upcoming test on our friendship, in which I'm intending to pass with flying colours. =)

[notice the same expression from both of us, lol!]

oh, and special thanks to these 2 girls:

who thought of inviting me along to the surprise farewell lunch [i was beginning to worry about how I'm gonna be seeing him before he leaves]. it means a lot to me, so thank you =)
see you again soon, Timmeng!

Pixar never fails to touch people's hearts, I love this piece from Thomas Newman:
only problem with this is, it's too short =(
